1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how AtoutAudio ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you purchase, install, and use AtoutAudio ("the Software").
2. Information We Collect

About HWID: The Software generates a device identifier based on hardware component information (or, as a fallback, an OS installation identifier). This identifier is one-way hashed (SHA-256) before being sent to our servers — the original hardware information is never transmitted or stored. We cannot reverse this hash to identify your specific hardware components.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above solely to:
- Verify and activate your software license.
- Enforce license terms (one device per key, 30-day device reset cooldown).
- Process refunds and deactivate licenses when applicable.
- Respond to customer support requests.
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized use.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited data with the following third parties solely to operate the licensing system:
- Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record): Acts as the merchant of record for all purchases, independently collecting and processing payment information, billing address, and email address to handle payment processing, tax compliance, license key generation, and order/refund management. Lemon Squeezy processes this data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.
- Supabase (Backend Infrastructure): Acts as a data processor on our behalf, storing hashed device activation records and executing license verification API requests.
5. Data Retention
We retain license and activation records for as long as your license remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward for support, fraud prevention, and legal compliance purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To make such a request, contact us at support@atoutaudio.com. Note that data held by Lemon Squeezy as an independent Merchant of Record (e.g., payment and billing information) is subject to Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy and may need to be requested separately.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices (encrypted transmission, hashed device identifiers, access-controlled databases) to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children's Privacy
The Software is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
